mt-2 squealing like ....

Postby khan » Fri Mar 23, 2012 7:53 pm

I like to use my MT-2 as a heavy, heavy tone pedal. I don't do heavy metal but, I go for that tone as an accent or to differentiate my tone from the other guitar and to add some color on certain songs or parts of songs. That being said, I've usually got the gain/dist way up, highs down, mid eq'd down and low way up. As soon as I kick on the pedal at practice levels, it squeals like nobody's business and is basically unusable. I had an MT-2 before and it did this fine for me but, the knobs were failing (not dirty but, failing. Too many stomps on them. I picked up my current MT-2 from Ebay used. I was thinking, maybe a previous owner attempted to home mod and failed (miserably) but, don't know and probably couldn't tell if they did. Anyone have any ideas on what I might trouble shoot for. I'm decent with soldering but, work best with pictures to identify caps, etc.
Thanks for any advice in advance!

Good point. It's at our rehearsal space...I'll pull it and open it up tomorrow. Thanks!
