myself, I'm more of sampler person!
my two favorites are
Akai MPC2000 I use this the most of all just because i like how it's possible to do a whole project in one box.
Akai S950 beautiful sounding thing, has much better synth-like features than the mpc.

Other/Cheapo stuff doesn't get much use:
peavey dpm sp 'sample playback synthesizer' (x4),
casio MT-11,
casio VL-1,
big box gameboy with LSDJ

I don't have many real synths because I use FL Studio which is very useful, so here's the short list...
Korg N364 - I was given it to simply repair, it didn't work so I took it apart and put it back together (excluding about 20 screws) and everything looked fine. Then later on I noticed somebody turned off the internal keys to allow for external triggering. By time I fixed the keyboard the owner no longer cared about it because they had received a better Yamaha unit. So I scored a free keyboard!
Korg Microkorg - Very useful live to play lead lines and soft pads. I bought it used for around $120, well worth it.

My future plans are to pick up a Kaossilator just for fun. Other than that I don't really need anything else for live performance.

On my wish-list are:

ARP Odyssey reissue by KORG
KORG Wavestation EX
KORG Z1 EX
Roland Jupiter-4 (If my wife and me hadn't been in financial trouble a few years ago, I'd kick my butt to have sold it. I want another one!)

That's it, more or less. I don't think that I would really need other synths apart from these. I wouldn't say no to a KORG DSS-1 or KORG Sigma, or to a Roland JD-800, Juno-60 or JX-8P. But so far I have almost all the sounds available at home that I want - as hardware synths! I would try a few other synths for fun, but I don't believe that I urgently need others. Well, I won't reject a Moog... I always wanted to play one. Didn't have the chance yet.

I forgot, I guess I would like to get a Triton one day. One of my favorite youtube synth guys is Ronald Jenkees and he does some amazing things with it.

When I have time later this weekend I'll go through my spreadsheet and let you know what I've had, got, and encountered through contacts. But it may take some time. :D

Synths I've had (including samplers and drum machines):

Akai: S01, S3000XL
Boss: SYB-3, SYB-5, DR-55, HC-2
Casio: CZ-1000, RZ-1
Clavia: Nord 2X
Crumar: Bit 99
DSI: Mono Evolver keyboard
Dubreq: Stylophone (yeah yeah)
EMU: Proteus FX
Ensoniq: Mirage
Introspectiv: 9090
Korg: DW-8000, ES-50 Lambda (x2), LP-10, MicroKorg, Monotron, Monotron Duo, poly 800, ER-1

Roland: Juno 6, juno 60, Jupiter 4, JX-10, MC-202, RS-101 stringer, SH-09, U-110, W-30, TB-303, TR-505, TR-606
Teisco: S-100P (x2)
Waldorf: Blofeld, XT
Yamaha: CS01, CS5, CS15, CS40m, DX7s, SY77, TX7, TX81Z, RY-30, RX-11

Also I like sequencers:

Roland CSQ-100, MC-50ii, Yamaha QX-1, DIY stuff...

I still have some of those, but it's about minimizing now. Also got a modular I designed and built myself, unfinished as yet.

Ones I've borrowed or used that were owned by friends include:

DSI Poly Evolver
Roland Jupiter 6, JP-8000, XP-50
SCI Prophet 5
Elka Synthex
Korg MS-10
Jen SX1000
Yamaha DX21/27
Roland D-5 (hahahahaha)
Korg DDD-5

Stuff I've seen in the flesh at friends' and colleagues' but not been able to do more than gape at or poke at briefly include:

EMS VCS3
PPG Modular
Gleeman Pentaphonic
RSF Modular
PPG Wave 2.2/2.3
EMU Modular
Korg PS-3200
Novation Mininova
Roland V-Synth
Mellotron
Hohner Clavinet

and probably a load more I've forgotten about completely.

I've tinkered with a few in the shops too, so these are some that have been on the radar and not ended up going home with me (yet):

Moog Minitaur, Voyager
Arturia Microbrute, Minibrute
Rhodes piano
Nord 4
Waldorf Pulse 2
Korg MS-20 mini
etc
etc

Sigh.

Present:
Waldorf Microwave XT
Waldorf MicroQ
Nord Micro Modular
Korg ER1
Roland SH-101

Past:
Roland Juno 106 (I really miss this)
Roland JX-8p (even had the programmer)
Access Virus A
Novation Bass Station
Korg MS2000
Akai S2000
Emu ESI4000 Turbo
Yamaha TX-81z
Korg N364 (my first synth)

I will admit soft synths get used more nowadays mainly for convenience. I'd die without my Absynth!!!
