myself, I'm more of sampler person!
my two favorites are
Akai MPC2000 I use this the most of all just because i like how it's possible to do a whole project in one box.
Akai S950 beautiful sounding thing, has much better synth-like features than the mpc.

Other/Cheapo stuff doesn't get much use:
peavey dpm sp 'sample playback synthesizer' (x4),
casio MT-11,
casio VL-1,
big box gameboy with LSDJ

I don't have many real synths because I use FL Studio which is very useful, so here's the short list...
Korg N364 - I was given it to simply repair, it didn't work so I took it apart and put it back together (excluding about 20 screws) and everything looked fine. Then later on I noticed somebody turned off the internal keys to allow for external triggering. By time I fixed the keyboard the owner no longer cared about it because they had received a better Yamaha unit. So I scored a free keyboard!
Korg Microkorg - Very useful live to play lead lines and soft pads. I bought it used for around $120, well worth it.

My future plans are to pick up a Kaossilator just for fun. Other than that I don't really need anything else for live performance.

On my wish-list are:

ARP Odyssey reissue by KORG
KORG Wavestation EX
KORG Z1 EX
Roland Jupiter-4 (If my wife and me hadn't been in financial trouble a few years ago, I'd kick my butt to have sold it. I want another one!)

That's it, more or less. I don't think that I would really need other synths apart from these. I wouldn't say no to a KORG DSS-1 or KORG Sigma, or to a Roland JD-800, Juno-60 or JX-8P. But so far I have almost all the sounds available at home that I want - as hardware synths! I would try a few other synths for fun, but I don't believe that I urgently need others. Well, I won't reject a Moog... I always wanted to play one. Didn't have the chance yet.

I forgot, I guess I would like to get a Triton one day. One of my favorite youtube synth guys is Ronald Jenkees and he does some amazing things with it.
