This is usually the switch or a wiring fault. Check every wire carefully.

The other thing I've seen causing this is the foil cover for the jacks shorting out on something.

IC3 and IC4 will have no effect on a fault like this.

Is the 5 second initial mute working correctly?

Something new with my little broo. I check again the wires because the pedal is directly activated without plug the guitar cord, but now, when I plug the DC, the 5 seconds mute aren’t present. I’m using a isolated power supply from joto (power supply 2 model). Some suggestions? Thanks for your time, Laurie...

More news about my DD-3. The problem with the direct ON of the pedal without plugin the guitar wire, was an issue of the input jack, solved. Main problem of 800ms mode still. I check the pins 59, 63 and 65 and all have +5V even if I change the mode switch to another position. I try an unorthodox method to check the 63 ands 65 pins; I connected to ground this pins (one at a time) through a 6.3vac little lamp and BOILÁ, now I have the 200 and 50 mS modes working.
Anybody have the info of the correct voltajes at this pins and the voltajes throwing the rotary mode switch?

I can’t solve the problem with the pin 59 (mute), but now the pedal is working well. I disconnect the 17 Lug (wire from pin 59 to common in one side of the rotary switch) and attached the common pin of the rotary mode switch (the side of the S M L Hold positions) to ground. I think Pin 59 don’t change High state (5V) to Low state (0v) and this is the cause of this issue. The pedal isn’t working well in the first 5 seconds Mute, but instead of this, now I can work with it and sounds great!

Hi,
my DD2 only output dry Signal,no problem with power,LED light,switch to Hold on function LED will turn light,
but no delay Signal form mono or stereo.

i has replace Q9 transistor,still no delay Signal.

Any Idea where can i fix it?

Hello, back again in this old thread.

I have an old boss dd-3 japan, dunno which version cuz the sticker on the back was removed by puting some velcro. With the pedal open, the power jacks says JAPAN, it is the long chip version.

The problem is, when you plug the PSU or bateries, the led will ligth at full and the pedal is always on, if you try to switch it off, it will only dim the led, but as soon as you lift you foot, the pedal is on again. It never turns off, and it will only make a squeel sound. Like when you put your mic pushed to the speaker and makes that whistle sound (I've always called that sound "feedback").
All modes do the same, execpt for HOLD mode.

All modes: led always on and gives the whistle sound. When you push the swicth to turn it off, the led will dim and the the whistle sound go higher in pitch. As soon as you lift your foot, the pedal will behabe like said above, it will never turn off.

HOLD mode is the opposite. Also, the whistle sound can vary with the time knob.

Does anyone have encountered this problem?
